AstroPay Integrates with Shopify to Connect Merchants with Customers across LATAM

Addressing Latin America's Payment Friction Problem
Latin America's retail e-commerce sales reached nearly $180 billion in 2024, with double-digit growth expected to continue through 2026. However, payment friction remains the primary barrier to conversion. Traditional cross-border payment solutions require merchants to navigate complex regulatory requirements, establish local entities in some cases, and absorb high processing fees.
“Our Shopify integration lets merchants reach our large user base, combining simple payments with easy expansion, no local entity or high cross-border fees required,” said EllaViana, Sales Director at AstroPay. "We're also providing local payment methods that help improve checkout conversion”.."Shopify merchants who integrate AstroPay before December 31, 2025, will receive a 50%discount on AstroPay’s volume processing fees for the first three months, along with free setup assistance. NOTE: Standard Shopify transaction fees still apply according to the merchant’s Shopify plan.
How it Works
Merchants integrate AstroPay’s payment app directly from their Shopify dashboard, and once the installation process is completed through our simple KYB verification, they can start accepting payments from AstroPay users in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, and Chile.
When customers select “Pay with AstroPay” during the Shopify checkout, they are redirected to AstroPay Checkout, where they complete authentication and continue the payment process in the AstroPay App, providing a smooth checkout experience
